REVIEW OF FROZEN
So I finally got to watch Frozen last night. And with all the praise and acclaim it’s gotten ever since it came out (not to mention with it being the highest-grossing animated movie of all time), all I gotta say is…I don’t get it.
(Wow, I’ve been very cynical lately. Haven’t I?)
I mean it’s by no means awful, but what exactly is it about the movie itself that people love? To me it just felt like an average Disney movie, and I feel like there are a lot of strange things that I think people either didn’t get or chose to ignore. For one thing, did you notice that everyone in that kingdom was afraid of living in a permanent winter…even though their main export is ice?
As for the music…..hmmm. Well nobody hang me for saying this, but I can’t stand Let It Go for the life of me (that and I don’t really think Idina Menzel is that good of a singer). The only song that I can honestly say I liked was the opening song when they’re chopping the ice. But aside from that, the soundtrack just doesn’t do it much for me.
I’m glad I finally got to see this movie, and never was there a moment that made me wanna walk out of the room. But there wasn’t really a moment that made smile or giggle.
So as the highest-grossing animated movie of all time, Frozen is just okay for me.
I’m sorry if I’m not following the crowds.
